In response to increased terrorist attacks that threaten our nation’s military servicemen and women, and the critical assets they protect, the Department of Army has increased initiatives to provide defensive physical security measures at installations across the nation.  The Department of Army recognizes W4 Construction Group’s experience with executing Anti-Terrorism Force Protection projects and issued a contract to our team for the design and installation of Vehicle Wedge Barriers and an intricate Control System at the Scott Gate, Fort Sill, OK.  W4 Construction Group is proud to support the Department of Army in it’s mission to protect the soldiers living and working at the home of the US Army’s Field Artillery School and the Marine Corps’ site for their Field Artillery MOS school,  by installing complex physical security systems to prevent unauthorized vehicles from entering the military base. The vehicle wedge barriers will block the flow of traffic for unauthorized vehicles attempting to gain entry to the base by pivoting from the surface of the pavement, forming a wedge shape.  The blocking plate is raised and lowered by a hydraulic system that can be activated within a matter of seconds in order to  provide maximum security for the soldiers on site. W4 will also install an Active Vehicle Barrier Control System (AVBCS) that collects alarm status, and control sensor inputs at the Access Control Point.  Combined, the new systems will protect the Artillery Soldiers of the 4th Infantry Division, and the Marine Corps Artillery Detachment teams from real and everyday threats so they can focus on their mission training.
